Photo studio b and the b gallery are proud to premiere in the heart of Kansas City's Crossroads Art District at 2016 Main St. The photo studio features the talents of seasoned west coast photographer Jodi Vander Woude and actor/photographer Darren Kennedy.

In 1991, Vander Woude earned a Graphic Design degree with an emphasis in photography from the University of Kansas and began her professional career with a re-location to chicago, Illinois. She was employed by Playboy Enterprises working as a Senior Designer and Producer for special editions of the magazine. Following a nine year stint with the magazine, Vander Woude relocated to the west coast and started a free-lance career and business.

In her role as entrepreneur, Vander Woude's repertoire included photography, production, make-up artistry and wardrobe styling. Her resume includes collaborations with photographers such as Amy Freytag (Playboy Magazine), Mark Seliger (Rolling Stones Magazine & Vanity Fair Magazine). She has worked with an extensive list of celebrity clientele and has done runway shows for designers such as Zac Posen, Dolce & Gabanna, Yves St. Laurent, and Alexander McQueen. One of Vander Woude's noteworthy endeavors was serving as the sole producer for the coffee table book of the Golden Nugget Casino in Las Vegas. Other magazine collaborations include Playboy, Vanity Fair, Us, and People.

In addition to Vander Woude's incredible commercial resume, she also has an extensive portfolio of photographic expeditions in Europe, Africa, and Asia which are currently on display at studio b. Vander Woude's goal as a photographer can best be summed up in her own words, "I started photographing people from a young age. I don't like to take just a pretty picture I want to capture a person's soul."

Joining Vander Woude as a photographer at studio b is Darren Kennedy. Kennedy has studied photography at the Art Institute of Kansas City as well as at the New York Institute of Photography. Kennedy relocated to the Kansas City area two years ago from Los Angeles and boasts an extensive acting resume in television, film and theater in the Chicago, Los Angeles and Kansas City markets. His experience on both sides of the camera garners him exceptional perspective as a photographer.
